Howard C. Cutler, M.D. - Biography

 

Howard C. Cutler, M.D., is an author, speaker, and psychiatrist based in Phoenix, Arizona. He is co-author with H.H. the Dalai Lama of two internationally best-selling books, The Art of Happiness: A Handbook for Living, and The Art of Happiness at Work. Both books are The New York Times bestsellers, The Art of Happiness remaining on that list for 97 weeks. These highly acclaimed books have been translated into over forty languages worldwide, and have been bestsellers in countries as diverse as France, South Korea, and Brazil. Dr. Cutler and H. H. the Dalai Lama are currently working on the third volume in the Art of Happiness series, titled, The Art of Happiness in a Troubled World.

 

Dr. Cutler's academic background includes a B.A. in Art, a B.S. in Zoology, and an M.D. degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine. He completed his residency in Psychiatry at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. He is a diplomat of The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and is on the editorial board of The American Journal of Psychotherapy. Dr. Cutler's field of special interest is the science of human happiness, and he currently lectures and offers workshops on this topic in cities throughout the US.
